Description
A handbrake add on for a Logitech G29/G920 "Driving Force Shifter" that mounts underneath the shifter. I made this because the cheap metal frame I had for my steering wheel / pedal / shifter set up did not have any additional space to add a purchased handbrake with a generic mounting plate.
This design uses a right angle microusb cable and a "one key keyboard":Â
Any one-key keyboard should fit as long as the shell is 32mm wide, and 12.5mm deep.
Each piece in the pictures were printed in black amazon basics PETG with the following print settings:
20% infill on the shaft, dowel, and handle to make it lighter for the keyswitch
30-50% infill on the base for strength
no supports should be fine, but I added a little notch in the shaft and the dowel so that I could use tree supports in cura to help prevent those pieces from toppling while they print
support blockers for the hole in the shaft to prevent any plastic leftovers on the roof of the hole
Updates:
Adjusted the base to rotate the keyswitch 90 degrees to avoid the handle colliding with the usb cable. Also adjusted the way the dowel slides into the base to make it more secure.
Adjusted the base where the dowel sits and added a little ramp in the channel that leads to the now-deeper dowel setting
Added a combined Shaft + Dowel part to avoid tolerance issues with the press fit and to more effectively keep the shaft in the middle of the dowel.
