These files provides a set of printable links that assemble into a flexible measuring chain. Each link represents 1 inch, allowing you to build a chain up to 24 inches long. The design uses simple mechanical joints—no glue required.

## Link Specifications

- Width: 9 mm

- Height: 6.5 mm

- Numbering Options:

- Stamped numbers for multi‑color printers

- Embossed numbers for single‑color printers

- Pause the print at the correct layer height and swap filament to add contrasting numbers

- Printability: No supports required.

## Printing Instructions

- Print each link length twice.

- Print one fewer bushing than the number of links

- Example: For a 12‑inch chain → print 11 bushings

- Optionally print two half‑bushings for a more finished look at the ends.

- Choose the link style that matches your printer setup:

- Stamped for multi‑color

- Embossed for single‑color with filament swap

## Assembly Guide

1. Lay out your printed links and bushings.

2. Start by pairing Link 1 with the highest-numbered link in your chain.

3. Continue assembling by incrementing/decrementing the numbers as you move along the chain.

4. Press-fit the bushings into place.

5. No glue is required, but you may use a small amount if you prefer a permanent assembly.
