Description
This design is a unique combination of the short designs, where the latch is fixed at the connector and the longer designs, where the clip is mounted to the cable behind the collet.
The design considers the exact dimensions of the collet and the cable for best functionality. To fit to your ethernet cable select the correct dimension (see image): RJ45_Clip_Repair_L[x]_d[y].stl
Length L[x] of the clip should be equal or larger than your RJ45-connector. Measure from the small edge of the connector on the contacts side to the end of the collet. Select d[y] to have a tight fit to the cable.
Since the clip needs to be a little flexible to work as intended, I recommend using PETG, nGEN or XT. PLA might be too brittle, TPU I did not test. With very strong materials, the connector will be hard to remove from the socket. Feel free to leave a comment on your experience with different materials.
Printed on a MK4s with 0,15mm layer height and supports everywhere, infill was increased to 30%.
