Description
My friends and a few others at the local grass volleyball meetup are missing the original end caps to their Park & Sun Spectrum Classic net systems so whipped out some calipers and threw together a few primitives in the slicer. This was my first model I ever made by scratch last year and am only now remembering I never shared it :P
The interfacing segment between the conical part and the cylinder that slides into the tube is solid for a few layers to help against any sheer forces that might otherwise cause cracking between those features.
I've printed a few versions of this in Matte PLA and PLA pro and both have held up fine over the last 6 months. If it's a little too loose fitting for you, try adjusting the X-Y contour compensation or just increase the size by a percent or so. By default it's not overly tight but also not loose enough to fall out on its own.
I printed these using 4 walls, 20% infill, and concentric top/bottom surface patterns. 0.24mm layer height mostly for speed but the increased ruggedness of the conical surface might help with avoiding slippage. The .3mf file with these settings is attached as well.
