Description
This project transforms new Prusament spools into a modular storage system for organizing cables, filament, tubing, or wire. Each unit connects using an interlocking base design, allowing you to expand the system as needed.
The goal was to create a simple, clean, and scalable solution that uses the spool itself as a structural component—not just decoration.
🔗 Modular & Expandable – Connect multiple units together seamlessly
🧱 Interlocking Base System – Puzzle-piece design keeps everything aligned
🧵 Multi-Use Storage – Works for filament, wire, tubing, and cables
🛠 No Hardware Required – Fully 3D printed assembly
⚡ Quick Print & Assembly – Designed for fast, practical use
I wanted a clean way to organize loose wire and filament in my workspace without creating a permanent setup. By using the spool itself as part of the structure, this design stays lightweight, reusable, and easy to expand over time.
Each spool sits in a printed cradle. The bases connect together using integrated alignment pins, allowing multiple units to be joined side-by-side. The system can be extended indefinitely depending on your storage needs.
