Description

My second generation of a fitting to allow passing filament out of a dry box and into a PTFE tube. Inspired by CNC Kitchen's filament dry box. Sized for a 4mm OD / 1.8mm ID PTFE tube and a clear plastic tote with walls approximately 2.4mm thick.

My first generation part is here. Note that the outside/nut-like part is identical so if you've printed the 1st gen you can reuse it. This version uses a 45° twist lock cap for the dust filter compartment. Using twist lock instead of thread reduces the amount of filament needed and makes the cap easier to take on and off. The dimensions of the internal space and the cap are identical to my stand alone twist-lock dust filter so foam cut for this will fit that and vice versa.

I've also included a solid plug/cap/nut that can be paired with the outer fitting to plug the printer end of the PTFE tube when not in use. I have mine mounted to the dry box.

Printing

Standard PrusaSlicer settings. No supports, 0.15mm layer height. I've printed in it PLA and PETG. If you're going to print in PLA you might want to drop the PTFE tube hole diameter down to 4.1mm (it's 4.2 in the files).
