Description
This build is part of XBS (Experiential Build System), a modular catalog of parts designed for the XRP. XBS allows users to easily add mechanical functionality to the platform for competitions, automation, and fun.
The Climber is designed to lift the XRP off the ground, similar to how an FRC robot climbs during competition. It is powered by the standard red hobby motors included in the XRP kit. With a 1:15 gear ratio, the motor drives a rack-and-pinion system that pulls the XRP chassis upward. The mechanism is designed to interface with a 1-inch-diameter PVC pipe mounted 4 inches above the ground.
The files are included in the attached zip folder. Each file is duplicated according to the number of instances needed in the build, so all parts can be loaded into the slicer at once with the correct quantities already prepared.
The XBS Climber Onshape model is linked below to assist with assembly.
