Description
No matter what! Always supervise your kids and pets!
I wanted a way to fold down the fireguard but the brackets that hold the vertical to the horizontal panels are screwed in tight! There was no easy way to disassemble the fireguard to be able to store it flat, until now.
Using hot melt nuts (M3x4x4.2), some M3x16 and M3 nuts, I made this hinged design to snap on and be screwed into place tight. It fits the profile of a few common fireguards on sale in Ireland/UK. There is a notch for the thinner bar to help keep this bracket in place. Use a minimum of 2 brackets per side!
Use PETG (or something strong, I would advise against using PLA due to weakness and hear).
When taking it of the print-sheet the first time, give it a solid and firm closing movement, the hinge as some clearances set that was calibrated for PETG.
