IKEA Trofast Bins for Kallax - Mounting Rails

Upgrade your IKEA Kallax with these custom-designed mounting rails, perfectly sized to hold Trofast bins. This modification turns any standard shelf cell into a high-density storage system, ideal for organizing everything from toys and LEGOs to workshop hardware. The mounts feature a sleek, chamfered profile that blends into the furniture for a professional, integrated look.

Quick Setup Guide

Hardware: Optimized for Spax wood screws (3.5 x 20 mm).

Spacing: While exact measurements depend on your bin size, a spacing of 12–13 cm between each rail typically provides a great fit for standard setups with the small trofast bins.

Symmetry: The rails are asymmetrical. Use the included 3MF file or simply mirror the part in your slicer to create a matching left/right pair.

Printing: For best results, use 3–4 walls and print the rails on their side to maximize the strength of the lip.

Pro Tip: To ensure perfectly level bins, cut a small scrap of wood to your desired height and use it as a temporary spacer to rest the rails on while you drive the screws.
