Description

Playing darts gains more and more popularity, especially around the time of
world championship games in December/January.
Playing and practicing for a few years now, I wondered how to optimize the
conditions. The illumination was one of the most obvious points. Buying
professional equipment was never an option (tinker on a budget), I started
designed something myself.
What you see here is the first version, maybe I'll redo some parts in the future.
My illumination ring is press-fitted between board and surround and should
therefore fit most boards (for reference, my board is 45,6cm outer diameter).
Despite time and plastic on your printer, you'll only have to supply a self-
adhesive LED-strap of at least 2.2m length (this drained my budget by 13€,
making it a lot more affordable then commercial solutions).
If you want to build one yourself, this it what you'll have to print:
11x Ring Element
3x Holder
8x Connector (maybe scale up by 2%-3%)
1x Ring Element Cable
1x Holder Cable

All items are printable on a 20cm by 20cm bed (ANET A8 in my case), you can
even fit multiple ring elements in one print. The settings I used where pretty
rough (0.4mm layer height, 20% infill), if you want more quality, reduce layer
height. If you fancy hidden cables, print one dbi_holder_cable for a regular holder (support needed).
For assembly, there is no glue required (as long as your print has average precision).

My overall print time was around 20h, consuming 380g of filament (I
printed everything in PLA, mostly from dasfilament).

If you build one yourself, please upload a make, and if you feel like, consider
tipping a small cup of coffee from the money you saved.

Support only for dbi_holder_cable. See description for details.
