Description
This is a super handy spool winder to easily keep power cords organised, untangled and out of the way in the workshop, garage or home.
It is designed to fit empty Prusa filament spools, with a bracket that can be fixed in several different ways (on the wall facing out, flat on the wall, or hanging underneath a bench), and a rotating knob that both holds the start of the cord as well as being able to easily turn the spool.
The front plate is designed to hold a power cord thickness of around 6.5mm, however, there is an additional latch that can fixed in place to hold thinner cords. Simply screw a M4 x 12mm bolt through the latch to allow it to pivot open and closed.
The front plate is fixed to the outside of the spool using zip ties, making it versatile to fit a range of different types.
The finger knob is held in place with a printed bolt that screws into the front plate.Â
The spool is held onto the bracket with a large rotating nut. Recommend applying some grease/lube to prevent the threads from binding.
UPDATE
I have beefed up the mounting bracket, to reduce any flex that may occur during use.
