Description
Overview:
These are original 3D printed targa plaques that I had been selling directly to the Samurai community a few years back. They stand out from some of the others now offered by retaining the factory style door jamb wrap. Many of the other printed plaques offered are basic flat rectangles and omit this detail among other things. These are direct replacements for cheap and flimsy OEM vacuum formed units, when printed correctly they are significantly more robust and add a unique look. Past purchasers will confirm that these are very high quality units with excellent fit and look great.
Mounting:
Can be mounted using the factory screws or the preferred method of using 3/16" pop rivets (requires drilling out body holes with 3/16" drill bit).
What's included with purchase?:
The price includes a digital files for a driver-side and passenger-side targa plaque in multiple design variations. Each variant has a prepared generalized 3MF file as well as the raw STLs of each side.
I will be adding more variants as time goes on but as of right now the following variants are included:

Japan Rising Sun JDM heritage (3 color)

Commercial Use:
If you want to sell the printed parts you make from these files, I will be offering a Prusa club membership soon that will give commercial permission. The membership will give access to my full catalog of files as well as some unseen beta files. Following my profile will ensure you are notified the moment it goes live. Once that goes live, the active members will be publicly listed to show who is an authorized reseller. Pirating or selling without an active club membership will not be tolerated.
Printing:
The 3MF is setup based around a generic Prusa MK4 printer using generic PETG profiles. Since this is a dual color print, I have tried to make it easy for the guys with single nozzle / non MMU printer as this was how I actually made them. The models are optimized so that color changes are minimized. Some variants have as little as 3 color changes total. In the file, I have already setup the M600 pause, the wipe tower, and a purge object (the small zuk outline). If you do plan print them this way, this method can be tricky to get right for some printers, consider the setup in the file as starting point that may need to be adjusted to your specific printer setup.
For the Bambu crowd or those with a multi material printer, it should also be well suited. The extruders are already pre assigned correctly in the 3MF so all you should need to do is assign you specific filament profile to each extruder, select your printer and you are golden.
As for print settings, they are optimized already to suit the model and you should not need to change anything here. I would do these with a 0.4 nozzle to retain the design detail, but print at 0.32 layer height primarily to keep the print time reasonable. There is a section in the middle that switches to a 0.2 later height in the backplate for a better surface finish. The model was drawn with these heights in mind. Be sure your bed is clean! You should be confident in your bed adhesion/level, I never needed a brim with these on a PEX sheet but warping is possible. If you have trouble, you can try adding a brim if need be.
Note that you are not limited to the color assignment I have given. Of your printer can support it, to wild and make some colorful versions!
Material: PETG (recommended), ASA. (NO PLA!)
Nozzle: 0.4mm
Layer Height: Variable (0.32mm primary / 0.2mm detail)
PETG is recommended at is what I used to make them from. However, ASA or other UV resistant, medium temp filament would also be fine. PLA is 100% NOT acceptable. The UV and temperatures seen will not have it last long.
