Magnetic Tensegrity table

This tensegrity table was designed to use a minimal amount of material with a geometric appearance using magnetism to maintain tension.  Print the TensegrityTableBottom and the TensegrityTableTop at 0.28mm layer heights. There is a difference between the top and bottoms for the fishing line locations.

The strength of the table is determined by the distance between the attracting magnets and the strength of the magnets.  For a stronger table, use thicker neodymium magnets or just add a few more magnets. 

Supplies Needed

• Two neodynium magnets 31mm (1.25") diameter and 1.5mm (1/16") thick. Neodynium magnets are required for more attraction strength over a longer distance. Thicker neo magnets, such as 3mm (1/8") thick, provide more strength and greater distance if desired.
• Fishing line is used as the counterforce to the magnets and to hide the support in plain view.  Thinner is better as long as it's strong enough to stand-up to the magnets strength.

Post Processing

• The magnets will need to be hot glued into position so that the table centers are attracted to each other.
• Fishing line will need to be attached to each of the table halves at three points. Knots will need to be used to secure the line. Plugs are provided to cover each fishing line hole.
