Description
My grandson's T-ball trophy broke. It was injection molded plastic so I designed this "topper" to replace it. It is made to attach to the base with a 1/4" bolt as the original did. It also takes a 50mm diameter round photo in recessed frame. We are going to use a photo of my grandson, the original had a lame baseball sticker.
This prints without supports in three pieces. The large figure lays flat and the two base interface parts capture the 1/4" bolt. I used (Gold silk) PLA but any rigid material should work.
NOTE: This is intended to be used with a base that has a hole with countersink for attachment. A 3D printed base could be designed but that is left as an exercise for the 3D printer.
Hardware:
one 1/4" bolt (length to fit base) & nut
two to four M3 x 20mm socket head screws (I used 2, holes provided for 4)
one M3 x 12mm low profile socket head screw [optional] (regular socket head may work)
The star part slips into the upper base pretty tight, I didn't find the extra screw was needed. Glue could be used. Make sure you insert the 1/4" bolt before screwing the two base parts together.
If requested, I could create a metric bolt version, M8 maybe.
