Description
This project turns an empty Prusament spool into a piggy bank — while pretending to still be a full spool.
A printed insert snaps into the spool and fills the center, creating the illusion of a fresh filament roll. Only from the side does it reveal the growing pile of coins inside.
The insert features a coin slot on top and a threaded opening on the bottom, secured with a matching screw cap.
Depending on the angle, it either looks like a brand new spool… or your slowly increasing “printing budget”.
Think of it as an analog Prusameter system:
the more coins you feed it, the closer you get to your next spool — and if you’re patient enough, maybe even your next printer.
Works especially well when displayed on a spool holder, just to keep up appearances.
