Description
This model is a functional protective case for standard circular NFC tags (stickers or discs up to 25mm in diameter). The keychain is designed for embedding the tag during the 3D printing process, ensuring it is fully sealed, waterproof, and protected from mechanical wear.
Key Features
Enclosed Compartment: The tag is permanently locked inside the model, preventing it from peeling off or getting lost.
Optimized Signal Strength: The top wall thickness is calibrated to ensure reliable data transmission and immediate NFC response.
Reinforced Eyelet: The integrated keyring hole is thickened to withstand daily use on a key bundle.
Silent Functionality: The internal tolerances are tight to prevent the chip from rattling inside the housing.
Technical Dimensions
The design is optimized for a balance between compactness and durability:
Total Height: ~37 mm
Main Body Diameter: ~32 mm
Internal NFC Slot: Ø 25.5 mm (fits standard 25mm tags with 0.5mm clearance)
Wall Thickness (Shell): 3.0 mm lateral reinforcement
Keyring Hole (Slot): 11.0 mm x 4.5 mm (designed for easy threading of various keyring sizes)
Hole Corner Radius: R 2.0 mm
Assembly and Printing Instructions
Preparation: Import the model into your slicer and identify the layer where the internal cavity is about to be closed.
Print Pause: Insert a pause command at that specific height (e.g., using M600 or the "Add pause" feature in PrusaSlicer).
Insertion: During the pause, place the NFC tag into the slot. Ensure the tag sits flush or below the printed surface to avoid nozzle collision.
Completion: Resume the print to seal the tag within the final top layers.
Recommended Print Settings:
Material: PLA, PETG, or ASA for outdoor durability.
Layer Height: 0.2 mm.
Infill: 15–20%.
Supports: Not required.
