Swivel base - Modular rotating hydroponics tower

A ball bearing base plate for the modular hydroponics tower from Blove.
In my setup the towers have to be able to rotate in order to reach the plants at the other side of the tower.

This base plate runs on bb balls. They are plastic and do not rust in the moist environment of the hydroponics.

It fits on any 3d printer with 25x25cm build plate.

Tips

• You need 2 ball cages per bearing set.

• Standard bb balls fit.

• This is designed to work with the Funnel. See my other models.

• Make sure the adapter ring is printed as shown in the picture! It needs support in the bearing race. This orientation puts the 'bad'/supported race at the top of the bearing. This makes it run smoother.
  

Assembly

• Place the base with the screw ears print bed side face down.

• Place an empty ball cage on the groove.

• Place a bb ball in every hole of the ball cage.

• Place the adapter ring in the middle with the raised edge down!

• Place another ball cage and place the balls.

• Cover it with the upper bearing ring. Note: it does not go all the way down on the bearing.

• Place srews in the bearing ring.

• Tighten them untill the lower bearing is lifted by the screw.

• Do not overtighten them this will cause the bearing to seize.
