Description
Based loosely on the infinity-clip for bambulabs reusable spools, this clip improves on the pins/pegs that go into the spool and the clip does not have any overhangs, but clamps the filament between the clip and the spool, which prints more reliably.
The clip is designed to be printed in PLA+ or PETG as the pins will be prone to shearing off. You should experiment with nozzle temp to get the best layer adhesion possible and print at a slower speed. Print a couple with increasing temps and try to break the pins off. I found matte and some other PLA types do not work well; and that is why I switched to PLA+ for low temp spools.
I printed at 1.5mm layer height with 5 walls/perimeters.
The clip is designed to fit snug.. Don't pull one end to remove as the other pin might shear off. Use a flat, thin blade to pry the clip off, or use the included removal tool. Just press the removal tool pins against the pins on the clip (from the outside of the spool)
If the filament slips down, the clip is not pressed tightly against the spool.
