Description
Overview:
These are the original highly popular customized marker light replacement lenses I had been selling to the Suzuki community a few years back. The fit is fantastic and the model is highly optimized for 3D printing. They are great to replace your broken or damaged factory lens for significantly lens money than OEM ones or if you want to add some uniqueness.
While these look 100% convincing as a factory part, please note that these are not DOT/MOT approved and may not pass all vehicle inspections, use at your own risk.
Mounting:
Ultra simple, simply remove the old lens by unscrewing the 2 screws and replace with these. No special hardware required.
It should be noted that replacing the original incandescent light bulb with a LED bulb is strongly recommended! The heat from the factory bulb is likely to warp the lens over time. Additionally, using an LED bulb gives a much better visual impact and makes the color really stand out. All photos shown have an LED bulb installed. Know also that you can use different color LED bulbs to change the look. If you print the lens clear, you can use a white, amber, or red bulb. Additionally, if you print the factory lens colors, using a color matched bulb color will enhance the color.
For the LED bulb, after trying quite few different styles, I found the type listed below worked the best. They are bright, spread the light well, come in multiple colors, and are inexpensive. You can find them on Amazon, but the same can be found on AliExpress for much cheaper. There are a few variations of these, but you want the style that looks like an X with LEDs on each face. There are some that have LEDs on the end of the bulb, but I found these make a 'hotspot' on the lens and the bulbs without this look better.

What's included with purchase?:
The price includes a digital files for a complete set of lenses in multiple design variations. Each variant has a prepared generalized 3MF file, from this you can extract the raw STL if desired.

Commercial Use:
If you want to sell the printed parts you make from these files, I will be offering a Prusa club membership eventually that will give commercial permission. The membership will give access to my full catalog of files as well as some unseen beta files. Following my profile will ensure you are notified the moment it goes live. Once that goes live, the active members will be publicly listed to show who is an authorized reseller. Pirating or selling without an active club membership will not be tolerated.
Printing:
The 3MF is setup based around a generic Prusa MK4 printer using generic PETG profiles. Since this is a dual color print, I have tried to make it easy for the guys with single nozzle / non MMU printer as this was how I actually made them. The models are optimized so that color changes are minimized. Some variants have as little as 3 color changes total. In the file, I have already setup the M600 pause, the wipe tower, and a purge object (the small zuk outline). If you do plan print them this way, this method can be tricky to get right for some printers, consider the setup in the file as starting point that may need to be adjusted to your specific printer setup.
For the Bambu crowd or those with a multi material printer, it should also be well suited. The extruders are already pre assigned correctly in the 3MF so all you should need to do is assign you specific filament profile to each extruder, select your printer and you are golden.
As for print settings, they are optimized already to suit the model and you should not need to change anything here. I would do these with a 0.4 nozzle to retain the design detail, but print at 0.32 layer height to have a stronger face and limit the color changes to keep the print time reasonable. The model was drawn with these heights in mind. The orientation and infill used for the lens is optimized to produce a reflector look in the lens. Ensure you bed is clean and level when printing as this will directly influence the quality of the lens. Using a smooth build plate will produce a stronger 'reflector' look, using a textured plate will make the face appear more uniform but have a weaker reflector look.
Note that you are not limited to the color assignment I have given. If your printer can support it, go wild and make some colorful versions! The model is split up into separate bodys that allow you full color freedom. The outer frame, lens face, and text are all separate and can be easily defined with any color you want. Just be sure to use a transparent color for at least the body labeled lens.
Material: PETG (recommended), ASA. (NO PLA!) Transparent material for the lens face at a minimum!
Nozzle: 0.4mm
Layer Height: 0.32mm
PETG is recommended at is what I used to make them from. However, ASA or other UV resistant, temperature resistant filament would also be fine. PLA is 100% NOT acceptable. The UV and temperatures seen will not have it last long.
