Aluminium Profile 20x20 Scanner Box for Paperless-ngx with STEP file. =)

I needed a box to cover my new Epson ES-580W scanner from dust when it is not used for Paperless-ngx.

I had plenty of aluminum profile extrusions in 20x20 still lying around so I made this little box which I will modify later with some custom add-ons. The BumpMesh project from CNC Kitchen might bring some nice textures to the front parts.

Adjust the box to your needs. The STEP file is included in the downloads section.

Parts needed

• Aluminium extrusion 20x20 in these sizes or cut longer ones yourself (which will be way cheaper):

  • 4x 600mm

  • 8x 300mm

  • 8x 400mm

• 4x 20x20 hinges

• 24x 90° angle bracket 

• 104x M5x8 screws

• 104x M5 slide in nuts for 20x20 aluminum profiles 

• 4x M5x16 screws

• 40x M5x12 screws

• 44x M5 nuts

• 8x Magnet Ø10 x 5mm

• 4x Feet 

Printing instructions

• 0.2 speed profile

• Textured sheet used

• No support

• No brim 

• For the 2 Handle parts add a pause to add the 4 needed M5 nuts during printing

• Add the magnets after printing and double check their orientation
