Description
Drop-on radiator hook that needs no tools, no holes, no hardware.
The big U at the top hangs over the main tube of a heated towel
radiator (fits panels up to about 36 mm thick). A straight spine drops
down in front of the radiator, and a smaller U at the bottom holds
whatever you want to hang — a folded towel, a wet glove, a shopping
bag, a key ring. The small U has a short vertical tip extension so a
hung item can't just slide sideways off the tip.
Prints FLAT on the bed as a single piece: every layer is the full
silhouette, so there are no overhangs anywhere and no supports.
Parametric source radiator_hook.scad) lets you change the top-U
radius, drop length, bottom-U radius, bar thickness and the tip
extension independently.
Size is tuned for typical European towel radiators, but every
dimension lives at the top of the .scad so you can re-print for a
different rail size or a chunkier bar in minutes.
Top U inner radius: 18 mm (opening ~36 mm — fits most radiator top rails)
- Drop (spine length): 64 mm
- Bottom U inner radius: 17 mm (opening ~34 mm — holds a rolled towel)
- Bottom tip vertical extension: 18 mm
- Bar cross-section: 6 mm in the side-view × 20 mm print-thickness
(stiff, won't flex under a wet towel)
Material: PLA or PETG. PETG for a towel radiator where the tube
gets warm (low risk of PLA creep at ~60 °C).
- Layer height: 0.2 mm
- Walls: 3
- Infill: 20% gyroid
- Supports: none
- Orientation: lay flat on the bed, silhouette face up
Print time ~1 h, filament ~25 g.
