Description
Absolutely have to have an orange tip on your replica? If your replica features an 'A2' sized flash hider, this may fit. It differs from the more universal model Madbull once produced, in that it attaches to the A2 more like its real steel counterpart, using the blank firing adapter grooves of the A2 birdcage flash suppressor.
Recommended dimensions - the entire assembly was modeled using a Cyma A2 style birdcage that came with one of my replicas. The outside diameter must be 22mm. The width of the lower groove of the flash hider cannot be any smaller than 3.7mm. The distance of the end of the birdcage to the top of the lower groove should be 37.3mm - this dimension is mostly to ensure the suppressor presses against the front to keep it from wobbling. Reference the measurement photos.
Print the collar first to see if it will fit your flash hider. The open end comes over it at an angle, then the U-shaped channel snaps into the lower groove to secure it in place. The suppressor body then threads into the collar sliding over the flash hider at the same time.
Printing - Variable layer height recommended for good thread resolution. While developing the collar system, I found it best to thread the collar and body together a few times to clean and smooth the threads before trying to install it on my replica. Support the inside and outside horizontal surfaces of the body and depending on your printer's cooling performance you might want to support the collar's arch.
