Description
Don't let your empty Prusament spools go to waste. The Prusatower is a modular, twist-locking storage system that turns workshop waste into functional storage carousel. Use them as a lazy Susan or stack them up as high as physics allow, feel free to do whatever you want, your spools your rule.
Upcycle your unused Prusament spool to create easy access storage for your home.
Modularity; parts connect together to create your perfect rotating stand.
100% support free design.*
Tested twist-locking system proven to be secure and easy to assemble
*Some parts consist of bridges though can be handled smoothly by most printers.
Rim
Prevents object from rolling/falling over the platform. Print one per spool flange.
Ex. (0.2mm layer height, Orange PETG)
Base
The load-bearing foundation of the rotating storage. Making the part heavier (e.g. inserting coins, rocks, sand, clay) can make the base more stable.
Ex. (0.2mm layer height, Matte Fossil Gray PLA)
Central Rod
The ‘spine’ of the system. Stack them up to create more platform. Print one per spool flange you want to add to the carousel, but don’t stack them too high or else it might topple.
Ex. (0.2mm layer height, Matte Fossil Gray PLA)
Handle
Twist on the top as a finish. Use them to lift the carousel from place to place.
Ex. (0.2mm layer height, Orange PETG)
Cap
A substitute for the handle achieving a low profile top.
Ex. (0.2mm layer height, Matte Fossil Gray PLA)
In addition to this, you’ll need at least one Prusament spool flange. This will the the platform of the storage carousel.
Inserting the rim
Insert the rim onto the flange until it clicks into place. You might need to play around a little bit but it shouldn’t be that difficult. Make sure it’s oriented as shown below.
Inserting the flange onto the carousel
Make sure you have already inserted the rim onto the flanges. Orient the spool flange so the flat side faces up, then gently push is into its seat, you might need to wiggle the tabs a little. It should be able to spin freely after inserted.
I recommend inserting the spool flanges into its seat before connecting the parts together. You will not be able to insert the flange into the base after you’ve connected the central rod.
Twist-lock mechanism
All parts connect together with this mechanism, therefore, you can mix and match each parts to create the best structure for you.
To lock the two parts together, simply alight both parts, insert the parts into each other, and twist the top part counterclockwise until it clicks. You can separate both parts by twisting the top part clockwise.
