Description
I needed a dovetail mount to use my Seestar S30 Pro telescope in equatorial mode, and I found several models, but none of them quite met my requirements.
So, I took the measurements of the dovetail mount from my StarAdventurer and modified it to include a suitable screw adjustment (3/8") to make it easier and more convenient to attach to the telescope.
I slightly adjusted the height so it sits higher and the width so it's not too loose. I also changed the shape of the contact area with the telescope to increase the contact surface.
I also changed the depth of the wedge adjustment hole.
The screw used is 3/8-16 * 1-1/4". You can find it on AliExpress by searching for that exact size.
It can be printed with any non-flexible material, although I recommend using PLA or PETG. In both cases, I recommend using 5 perimeters, a grid infill, and 5 layers on top and bottom.
The model is already positioned optimally for printing and does not require supports.
I printed it and tested it with PETG-CF, but I'll reprint it using "glow in the dark" PLA because it stands out better in the dark.
