The Burley Coho XC trailer has been upgraded in two steps:

1: Attaching a battery & electric motor (https://www.electrail.de/webshop/trailer-antriebe/electrail-kit-16-detail)

Unfortunately, the supplied wheel with motor does not fit the trailer; therefore the slit has to be expanded to fit. This was done with a metal file. Then the most demanding part is to mount the battery. Therefore the plastic splash protection is removed and the battery is mounted to the 3d-printed parts (tight tolerances). The original screws can be used.

M6x40 screws and nuts are used to replace the rods that were provided with the trailer, making the battery-mount theft-proof.

2: Attaching a 100W solar panel for grid-free use (optional):

Mounting the aluminium profile(s) to the 100W panel:

2 x 445 mm 2040 Aluminium profile (I used V-Slot type)
2 x Hinges (+ fitting screws and nuts to mount to the frame; I used M5 screws and tension rings to keep the screws in place)
10 x M4x10 Hex screw 
10 x M4 hammer nut

Mounting the assembly to the trailer:

8 x Cable tie (I used reusable ones)
8 x M4 Hammer Nut
8 x M4x10 (Coho_mount_small) or M4x25 (Coho_mount_large); the parts need to be mounted to the profile with a distance of 408 mm to each other in order to fit the frame of the trailer

Electronics (NO soldering will be required! with my setup):

Note that the used LI-ion battery is rated 37V (30-42V); therefore the solar controller should support a 36V system!
Also the 18V solar panels wont work (without additional hardware); you need a 36V panel in order to charge the battery (when using the victron controller)

Note that special settings are needed on the victron smart solar charger to handle the 36V Li-ion system! I will provide them upon request..

100W Solar Panel, the one I used has the dimensions 1130 mm x 505 mm x 30 mm, weighs 6.5 kg (Link)
Solar Charge Controller that supports 36V (e.g. Victron Smart Solar 100/20)
Wires with RCA10.5 plug (I cut this from a 42V charger like this https://www.ebay.de/itm/193748401647
