Please NOTE, building a full sized boat from a model is NOT allowed for a certified Class Globe 580 This model is NOT in strict conformity with the original 580 Plans and is intended for visualisation purposes only.

If you are not already aware of the Class Globe 580 concept - this is a tiny one-class boat with a proven capabilIty of world girdling adventure, that anyone can build in their own garage, with basic tools!

ABOUT THIS MODEL

This replica model was drawn using freely available material online, and while it is a very close approximation of the actual design, if you are intending to build the full sized version, it probably does not need to be said that using it for any purpose other than inspiration is not a very good idea, and will not comply with the class rules!

If printed full size it will be a true 1:30 scale, which makes it ideal as a desk-top display or for inspiration as you plan your next circumnavigation!

PRINT AND ASSEMBLY -

Choose between printing the model in two pieces and assembling with a small amount of glue, or in once piece.

Note if you print in two pieces you can also choose whether to include an observation pod - these are two separate models.

The two-piece option does not require supports.

The single piece model will require support, and you can expect some degradation of the surface of the companionway bulkhead as a result.  (I have not test printed this version.)

The models should orient correctly as downloaded.

No special print settings are necessary - I used PLA with standard Prusa Slicer 0.28 DRAFT mode.

Assembly is straight forward, use a little superglue to hold the two parts together.
