Description
Honeycomb Clip-On Shelf Rack
A vertical add-on rack that clips onto the top surface of a monitor stand or shelf, giving you a tidy spot to store books, a closed laptop, a tablet, notebooks, or anything else you want kept upright and off the desk.
I designed this as a companion piece for Erl's excellent Honeycomb Monitor Stand (link to original) — the rack matches the same honeycomb aesthetic, so the two pieces look like they belong together. It's sized to clip onto a 1.5 cm thick plywood shelf (the same dimension Erl's stand uses), but it'll work on any flat shelf around that thickness.
What it's good for
Storing books or binders upright next to your monitor
Holding a closed laptop vertically to save desk space
Keeping a tablet or sketchbook within reach
Adding a second tier of storage to any shelf without permanent mounting
Features
Honeycomb cutout pattern — looks great and saves filament
Clip-on design — no screws, no glue, just slides on
Fits 1.5 cm thick shelves (same as Erl's monitor stand)
Companion aesthetic to the original honeycomb monitor stand
Print settings (what I used)
Material: PETG recommended (PLA works but can sag if it gets warm)
Layer height: 0.2 mm
Walls/perimeters: 3 (for clip strength)
Infill: 20–30%
Supports: None needed
Credit Big thanks to Erl (@Erl_81180) for the original Honeycomb Monitor Stand that inspired this companion piece. If you don't already have a stand, go grab theirs first — this rack is designed to pair with it.
If you print one, I'd love to see it — drop a Make and let me know how it fits your setup!
