Description
Overview
Simplify your daily medication routine with this 28-day mechanical pill dispenser. This project is designed to be fully 3D printed, requiring no external hardware, fasteners, or complex assembly—the only additional item needed is a standard elastic band to power the return mechanism.
How it Works
The device features a lever-actuated indexing system that rotates the internal carousel to the next compartment with every click. Once you actuate the side lever, the mechanism advances, allowing for a consistent and reliable dispensing experience every morning.
Printing Instructions
NOTE: You may need to scale the design to your printer. This design scales up to 60% and will remain funcitonal.
Recommend printing the rachet and round rachet index at 30-40% infill
Assembly Instructions
Parts: All components are designed to be 3D printed without the need for specialized hardware.
Required Material: You will only need one standard elastic band for the lever return mechanism.
Tie rubber band around the loop in the lever. I recommend tying in the middle of the band leaving loops on both sides
Insert the round rachet index into the housing slot
Put the lever through the housing slot and then put the post through the lever hole
Loop the rubber band around the small rubber band post
Place the internal rachet on the post and is properly aligned to the lever. Ensure that the rachet is in the exact orientation as shown below
You can then place the pill wheel in the housing. You many have to apply slight pressure and spin the pill wheel until it is fully in place then secure in place my screwing on the nut to the top of the post
Attach the stand and fill it up will your daily pills! (Make sure not to fill the slot with the opening as your pills will fall out)
Screw on the lid and you're good to go!
