Description
A mini wind chime frame to hang whatever strings and beads you like by tying them on the 3 vertical panels.
Ideally use your used bicycle spokes instead of throwing them away.
The panels are designed to allow the spokes to move freely and securely back and forth as well as side to side.
The sun and clouds move too :)
Quick and easy to assembly
Pass the spokes through the small openings on the three panels and let them hang there.
If you are using common strings just tie them to every/every other opening.
Place the panels vertically inside the frame. Secure 4 cords, max 1,5mm (2 folded) to hang the wind chimes.
In case you d like to decorate the spokes with some raindrop-shape beads like in the photo, you just need to get through the threads at the end of the spokes by screwing (although the beads have no threads but they are soft enough), then pull them to the height you want. Normally they should be able to stand without glue. I suggest you print one and check the clearence.
Bicycle spokes (14G-standard 2mm) or strings. Up to 30 pieces. You dont need to have 30 spokes in order for wind chimes to work. Any number x3 will do. or just make your own pattern, triangle etc
Cords for hanging the frame
Spoke nipples. (Optional)
A pair of googly eyes (Optional)
Note, that if you use custom strands, they will need to have some weight.
Not much to say here... I used 0,4 nozzle, 0,2mm layer height 15-30% infill and PLA for the sample.
If you choose to print the raindrop-shape beads, you must use brim.
For the 3 panels, lower your speed for the first 1-2 layers because of the small openings that are close to each other, to allow adequate adhesion.
A version without the debossed letters is also included. Customize it as you wish. (Or skip it)
Tip. I used the Knotty hub to fasten the strings for hanging the wind chimes.
