Description

"Pre-Prosthetic" that uses a rotary locking coupling. 1/4 turn rotary locking collar uses detent spring mechanism to maintain open/closed position.  Thermoform the base to fit onto a thermoplastic forearm cuff.

  • Print settings: .2mm height

  • No supports, no magnets needed

  • Pic of old version (in blue) is shown in use.

  • Locking Ring comes in a "Snugger Fit" version as well as STEP file to adjust clearances in CAD.

Main Base Assembly:

  1. Glue the base assembly together (see pic); ensure "Locking Ring" freely rotates 1/4 turn.

  2. Mold thermoplastic splinting material as a cuff around residual limb

  3. Heat up the perforated section of "Female Base" (hot water or a heat gun) and mold to the plastic cuff (see pic); use glue or more splinting material to fasten in place

Tool Assembly:

Ball and socket Tool uses foam tubing (e.g. Rubazote)

  1. Print "Tool - Screw" first

  2. Then, in your slicer, insert a pause for the "Tool - Foam Holder" print

  3. When printing has paused, place the pre-printed  "Tool Screw" onto the shaft.
