Description
Drop-in cup-style shower hair catcher that sits inside a typical
EU bathroom / shower / sink drain and stops hair before it clogs the
trap. One-piece print, no supports.
Default size: Ø43 mm cup body, Ø56 mm top brim flange, 5 mm deep
into the drain, ~9 mm overall Z. Sits on the drain rim (brim) with
the body dropping into the drain hole. Open top — water flows
straight into the bowl.
Magnet anchor. A small central chamber takes a Ø16 × 5 mm
captive magnet / puck. Insert via a print-pause (drop the puck in
through the open chamber cap during the print) or modify the SCAD to
make the chamber accessible from underneath. The magnet keeps the
catcher anchored against the drain rim and stops it floating away
under a strong jet.
Strainer pattern. Fine hex grid across the bottom plate
(2.5 mm flat-to-flat cells, 0.9 mm walls) lets water through while
trapping hair. Solid cage walls around the magnet chamber (no hex
windows) so hair can't bypass the strainer through the cage.
Cleaning. Lift the cup out by the rim, rinse hair off the bottom
hex, drop back in. The magnet keeps it seated.
Parametric. Edit the top of shower_hair_catcher.scadto retune:
catcher_dfor brim OD (38 / 50 / 56 / 75 / 90 mm presets in the
header), body_dfor cup OD, body_hfor cup depth into the drain,
chamber_dfor the magnet pocket.
The three-photo gallery shows the cup top-down (hex bottom + central
magnet cap), bottom view (Voronoi-look hex underside), and installed
in a real shower drain.
Designed iteratively over V1..V10 — narrow body, solid cage walls,
open top with no closed-top bridges.
