Description
Previously this was a Makerworld Exclusive model, but I've decided to leave the program to offer the model on other platforms.
I'm happy to release the latest version of the cone packing jig. I've dubbed this the Doobloader and it's aimed to fix a few things. Here is what's new.
Rubber Feet I added support for 8mm rubber feet.
No Ejector Needed This version doesn't need an ejector. I lowered the height of the jig so the cones stick out the bottom into the catch tray. To get them out, just lift the jig off the tray and set it on a flat table. The cones push right up.
Pin Storage There is a specific spot to keep the packing pin now so you don't lose it.
Universal Trays I designed this so you can swap trays between different cone types. For example, a 4x4 tray for Regular cones now works with the packer for 98 Special or King Size. This saves a lot of printing. You only need one catch tray and one pin to use with all your different packing jigs.
Better Bowl: I made the top look more like a rolling tray. The corners are rounded (filleted) so material doesn't get stuck.
Better Fit: The tray and jig fit together much better now.
Labels: I put labels on the front so you can easily see which jig is which.
Bigger 1x Bowls: The single packers used to be too tight, so I made the bowl area larger to make them easier to use.
Dogwalker 70/30
53mm Shorty
King Size
Regular
Lean
98 Special
This version is free and includes:
1x1, 2x2, 2x4, 4x4
If you want other sizes, they are on my Cults3D profile. Buying it gets you all future updates too.
The full version includes:
1x2, 1x3, 1x4, 1x5, 1x6
2x3, 2x6
3x3, 3x4, 3x5, 3x6
4x5, 4x6
5x5, 5x6
6x6
If you need to pack a huge amount at once, I have a Mega Pack on Cults3D.
It costs a bit more because it's for high-volume jobs. Most people honestly don't need to do 100 or 144 cones at a time. But if you do, these can work with a vibration table to go faster.
Note on vibration tables: I haven't personally tested the fit on specific tables, so please do your homework before buying one to make sure it works with these dimensions.
The Mega version includes:
7x7
8x8
9x9
10x10
I'm always trying to make these better. If you have ideas, send me a DM on Makerworld or Printables.
Coming soon:
70/24 Dogwalker
King Plus (Larger filter)
I tested these a lot on an X1C and P1S to make sure they fit right. If you have issues with the parts fitting, check that your printer and filament are calibrated correctly.
