Description
This is a high-performance rotating organizer that replaces traditional, fragile 3D-printed gears with a Gearless Traction Drive. Inspired by industrial engineering principles, it uses 5mm steel balls to achieve an incredibly smooth and stable rotation.
Perfect for organizing makeup brushes, tools, pens, or electronics components, this caddy features a 2:1 differential rotation, meaning the inner compartment rotates at exactly half the speed of the outer ring.
Key Features:
Mechanical Precision: No more grinding plastic gears. The system rolls on steel bearings, providing a premium "machine-like" feel.
Heavy-Duty Stability: Unlike standard turntables that can wobble, the weight is distributed across the ball bearings, allowing it to remain perfectly balanced even when fully loaded.
Tool-Free Assembly: The design features integrated snap-fit clips. Once printed, simply drop the balls in and click the parts together. No screws or glue required.
Support-Free Printing: Every part is optimized for easy 3D printing without the need for support structures.
Technical Details:
Rotation Ratio: 2:1 (Inner tray moves at 50% speed).
Hardware Required: 24 x 5mm Steel Bearing Balls.
Link to Hardware: Kozelo 5mm Precision Steel Balls (or any standard 5mm chrome steel balls).
Print Settings:
Material: PLA (Recommended for rigidity).
Walls/Perimeters: 3 or 4 for structural parts.
Infill: 15-20% (Gyroid works great).
Supports: No.
Special thanks to my wife for being the first "tester" for this makeup organizer!
