Description

Bring the Mad Titan to your desk, bookshelf, or PC case with this custom-designed Thanos shelf sitter. This model was sculpted specifically to rest securely on any flat edge, contemplating his next move (or perhaps just watching your print progress).

The model captures the iconic armor and physique of Thanos in a relaxed but powerful seated pose.

Design Details

  • Edge-Balanced: No adhesive or supports needed for him to stay seated on most standard shelves.

  • High Detail: Optimized for FDM printing to maintain muscle definition and armor textures even at smaller scales (I've printed him on my Q2 and K1).

  • Family Tested: This specific version was printed and then immediately "commissioned" for a custom paint job by my daughter :D

Recommended Print Settings

  • Material: PLA, PETG, or even high-detail resin.

  • Layer Height: 0.12mm - 0.16mm (recommended for the facial detail and armor texture).

  • Infill: 15-20% Gyroid for stability.

  • Supports: Minimal supports may be needed under the chin and the overhanging arm depending on your printer’s cooling and bridging capabilities. I've included 2 orientations, depending on how you'd like the supports to be structured.

Show Off Your Prints!

If you print this, please post a make! I’d love to see if you can outdo my our paint job haha.

Design & Workflow

This model was created using a hybrid design process to ensure both high visual fidelity and functional printability:

  • Concept & Initial Rendering: The base form and aesthetic were generated using AI imaging to establish a unique "shelf-sitter" silhouette.

  • Refinement & Engineering: The initial render was then brought into Blender, where I manually sculpted the details, corrected the geometry for 3D printing, and precisely calibrated the "sit" to ensure he balances perfectly on a 90-degree edge without tipping.
