Description
Just a simple holder for scissors or similar tools. I specifically wanted one to put on my knife block, but it can be mounted anywhere.
Designed in two parts so the holder can easily be removed for cleaning, replaced if worn/damaged, or swapped to another size in case new scissors is a different size.
The mount can be either put on with glue/double-sided tape, or fastened with two small countersunk screws.
The holder is simply slid down over the mount and held on by friction. Gently push or tap it down to lock it in. To remove it again, gently tap on the holder from below.
I have generated a variety of differently sized holders that should accommodate a range of common scissors. Each file has the hole-size(in mm) denoted in the filename. The "20x6" fits my regular "kitchen" scissors and is the one shown in the images. The "15x5" fits the slightly smaller scissors that came in the set. Every size holder also has an "XL"-version which is slightly longer(35mm vs 50mm).
I have included .step files for both holder and the mount in case anyone wants to adapt the holder to a different size or shape, or whatever you can think of. If I ever get around to it, I might eventually make some other knife or tool holders that uses the same mount.
Printing:
Nothing special required.
Place the holder with the top facing the bed, and the mount with the back laying flat(See attached image).
No support needed on either part.
The taller XL versions of the holder might need a brim if you struggle with bed adhesion.
*Disclaimer: No, my knife block is not that dirty :P It has a matte black paint that becomes glossy when scuffed(idiotic choice of paint...) and the camera sure does pick those up extremely well.
