Description
Coca cola bottle hourglass marble run
500ml Coca cola sells in 200 countries so I hope yours will fit, print the test.stl and see for yourself, if top part protrudes on the top of the bottle, you can still use it, just alight tops and then cut the bottle to correct length.
Balls can sometimes stuck on the floors, but it's just a toy. I have used 20 stainless steel balls
2x 500ml Coca cola bottles
6mm steel balls
Super glue
No supports needed, all parts are oriented in printing orientation, just floor3B.stl can benefit from some standard supports for the bottom slot, it's printable without supports, but you need to clean holes near the bottom slot with knife.
Print most parts on your favourite profile, floor parts can benefit from lower layer height or adaptive layer height
Use 6+ walls on bolts( if they ends up tight, reprint them with negative xy contour compensation, just don't force them)
Don't use silk filament for bolts, even standard pla have better layer adhesion and stiffness.
You will need
2x bottom
2x floor pieces
3x pole
6x bolt
Test and connector
Open yourself a coca cola and then another one ;)
Cut the bottom 10mm bellow the label, insert test print and cut the bottle to the size, small scissors works great.
Glue floors together, pay attention to the hole alignment.
Screw poles to the one bottom, screw bottles together using the connector, build your marble run on the bottom of the hourglass, close is with bottles and insert second run from the top. Fill it with balls, close if with second bottom and secure if with screws
