Description

The original supplied throughput for the PTFE Tube supplied with the SpacePi dryer did not securely hold the tube in place, so I decided to make this adapter to be able to use a quick connector for the 4mm PTFE tube.

There is nothing to be modified on the dryer itself, just print the adapter and screw the PC4-M6 quick connector in ( I am using this one from AMAZON ), that‘s all. Just pay attention to orient the block so that the rounded protrusion on the top side of the block matches the recess around the hole on the inside of the dryer. You can use this adapter on the single and the double model of the SpacePi dryer as well, like shown in the pictures. To close the connector hole when drying only, I am using a 3cm long tube piece (inner dia. 2mm) and a small printed tube plug, the model you can find for download as well.

Due to the rather fine thread I recommend to print it with 0,25mm nozzle, 0,1mm layer height, 3 perimeters and 30% gyroid infill. It does work with 0,4mm nozzle as well, but expect the thread to be quite tight and be careful to catch the thread when screwing the connector in. Print it in any material you prefer, but always keep in mind that the inside of the box may exceed the max. temperature that PLA can handle, I recommend to print it at least in PETG, or even better in ABS/ASA.

Hopefully you will find my design helpful and I whish you happy printing!
