Description
After posting my previous map I saw a reddit user had made their own custom map and I wanted to try making that too.
Additionally a user shared a previous map with me which had a cool 3d render website so of course I wanted to try that. Here is the one that I was linked: https://zootlocker.github.io/barovia/nofog.html
Here is the map viewer that I made: https://adambissonnette.github.io/3dnd_maps/?map=barovia2
Overall these maps are a fun exercise and I think they turned out pretty good. There are improvements for sure like adding structures (bridges, villages, castle Ravenloft) and the sky is the limit for the map viewer thing but overall I think things are OK here. Like with my other models I've included the depth map here in case you want to try this out for yourself.
I've included the full displaced plane and a trimmed version that fits the map layout.
I don't think that these maps are super practical to print since you either need to make them huge (and split into parts) or smaller and resin print them. If I get around to printing them I'll update the files and add print files. If you want to print these let me know and I'll work with you to optimize as needed. We could add openlock clips to attach them together or figure out some kind of jigsaw system to hide the seams in the river or something - lmk what you wanna do.
Recently I launched a Kickstarter for my modular terrain set I'm calling "Modular Barovia Part 1". The idea is to build out a kit to support running the death house - this kit will extend the existing modular terrain parts that I've made making them even more flexible. I've got stretch goals to add structures and other minis - if you're interested in this sort of thing you can check it out here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/adamnant/modular-barovia-part-1
