Description
This print is similar to an existing product, “Buckle Booster,” and a few of its knockoffs.
Print this in TPU, or another flexible filament. It will need to be flexible to fit over the seat belt's buckle. It also needs to be a tight fit. The dimensions of my truck's (2016 Ford F150… do I need to add another disclaimer?) buckle at their largest are 30mm by 50mm.
I printed at a 0.15mm layer height with a 10% gyroid infill. PrusaSlicer has a very low volumetric flow rate for TPU by default, so printing at 0.15mm and at 0.3mm results in nearly identical print times with all other variables remaining the same.
My oldest kid has been in a booster seat for a few months (I suppose I should let him out now), but still has trouble with the buckle. He uses one hand to hold the latch, a hand to hold the slack in the strap, and his other hand to hold the buckle. This scares his little brother, so I told him not to do it.
Slide the Buckle Boom! over the buckle. It should be a tight fit. Push from behind to get it as far into the boom as you can. Once it is nearly through, you can then insert the latch to give you something to pull on.
