Description
This is a sample model for the Prusa ColorMix, which creates new color shades on your print by combining two or more filaments in alternating layers.
Learn more about the technique in the release article or the video below.
We printed the Shady Fish on a 2T Prusa XL using Prusament Pristine White and Prusament Jet Black. You can use the sample G-Code on a 5T Prusa XL as well.
The model is sliced using virtual extruders. If you want to correctly open the 3MF file, make sure to use PrusaSlicer 2.9.6 (currently in beta), or EasyPrint.
We recommend printing the model without supports, at 0.10mm layer height (for best color mixing results). 0.15 mm also works, if you don't mind slightly noticeable black layers at closer look.
You can easily substitute the black for any dark/saturated color and still get a nice shading effect.
You can try creating your own shaded model using this simple free web app which runs locally in your browser. Just import your model, set the highlight color and the shadow color, and set the light position. You can download the 3MF, or export it directly to EasyPrint.
