Description
Background:
Background: This is an easy to assemble Apple Watch charger that is inspired by the design of the iSight camera designed by noted designer Jony Ive. It is made up of multiple separate parts and does not require a multi-material system. The MagSafe charger itself does not need to be glued or permanently put together and can be popped out by hand.
Print instructions: The internal part of the charger should be printed in a contrasting colour. The only section that needs to be glued or permanently placed in is the end cap on the end of the sleeve that will not prevent the charger itself being placed inside. The MagSafe puck can be pushed into the circular section after the internal section has been placed. Then the cable can be threaded through the internal channel in the stand.
As seen here, the circular section can be angled to a certain degree. This part is only friction fit so it could possibly be challenging to print depending on what material/settings you have running.
All parts can be orientated to avoid the use of support material. Supports should definitely not be set to auto as there are some difficult spots to remove supports from. The only section that requires the use of support is the aperture at the base of the stand.
