Description
This thumb knob replaces the original side panel lock of the Rittal TE7000 cabinet system.
Instead of using the factory lock cylinder, this solution provides a practical rotary knob for quick and convenient access.
The design reuses original hardware components from the stock lock mechanism and was successfully tested in PETG.
Required Original Parts
The following components from the original lock are reused:
Original spring clip / retaining spring
Original locking cam / latch lever

Print Settings
Material: PETG or ABS/ASA

Assembly Instructions
Print all parts with supports for "lock.stl" and "main.stl enabled.
Install the M5x9.5 heat set insert into the thumb knob.
Press the original locking cam onto the square shaft at the rear side.
Assemble the printed parts together as shown in the reference image.
The thumb knob includes an alignment marker that can be matched with the locking cam position for easy visual indication of the lock orientation.
Insert and tighten the M5x30 screw from the back side.
The complete assembly can be installed into the cabinet while fully assembled. Make sure all parts are properly aligned during installation.
After inserting the assembly into the side panel, press the original retaining spring onto the back side to secure everything in place.

Designed and tested in PETG.
Reuses original Rittal locking hardware.
Provides a clean and practical tool-free opening solution for TE7000 side panels.
