Description
Overview
This is a desk-mount holder designed specifically for a Seagate Portable external hard drive.
The holder uses 1/2-inch VHB tape to mount securely under or alongside a desk, helping keep the drive protected, organized, and out of the way.
A relief notch is built into the design to clear a weld bead on my desk frame, but it may also help fit around other desk supports or irregular surfaces.
The drive slides into the holder securely while still remaining easy to remove when needed.
Features
Designed for Seagate Portable hard drives
Uses 1/2-inch VHB tape for mounting
Clean under-desk or side-mount setup
Built-in notch clears desk welds or frame irregularities
Friction-fit style retention

Mounting Notes
I used:
1/2-inch VHB tape
The mount was designed around metal desk framing, but should work on many flat surfaces with proper adhesive prep.
Printing Notes
PLA or PETG both work well
No supports required
0.4mm nozzle recommended
Print upright as modeled
PETG is recommended if the mount will live in a warmer environment.
Design Notes
The goal was to create a simple, low-profile mount that keeps portable drives off the desk surface without needing screws or brackets.
The notch was originally added to clear a weld seam on my desk, but it may also improve compatibility with other desk frames or mounting locations.
