Description
I have a clear glass whiteboard which is (obviously) non-magnetic, but I missed being able to use the various accessories designed for magnetic boards to hold pens, erasers, etc. Inspired by https://www.printables.com/model/204014-quartet-glass-whiteboard-marker-holder I created a pen holder which uses a friction fit clip to attach to the side of the board.
The holder is designed to fit Quartet markers, which are about 16mm in diameter, so anything up to that size should work. The clip is designed for a 4mm thick glass board, with a little tolerance. The orientation is set to be on the right side of the board, but you can flip the design in your slicer if you want it to go on the left (mirror along Y axis). Each holder will fit 4 pens, but you can stack as many as you like to hold more, as shown in the photo.
I printed in regular PLA, other materials should work as well. No specific settings required but I'd recommend printing it standing up, and therefore adding a brim unless you are very certain of the stability of your bed :) The model is top heavy and will fall over if the bed grip is insufficient. I had no problems with a 1cm brim. I'd also suggest adaptive line height to keep the curves smooth.
I included STL and STEP in case you need to tweak. Please post your makes! :)
