Description
A solution that uses the metal chassis of the optical drive for mounting the drive door piece back onto the GoldStar 3DO GDO-101M for better aesthetics after the removal of the original optical drive.
3D printed pieces
2x M3 screw and nuts for installing the inside piece
4x circular magnets with a diameter of 4mm and no taller than 4mm
Print with the give orientation. Support should be optional.
Insert TWO magnets into the holes on the inside of the INSIDE piece and tape them over.
Install the inside piece as shown in the photo. This model should clear the external version of MNEMO's ODE, but obviously you will have to pop off the door to use the external USB port.
Lay the remaining magnets over the INSIDE piece to get the correct orientation for them, then install them into the OUTSIDE piece, and tape them over. Test fit to make sure it snaps into place properly.
Snap the OUTSIDE piece into the back of the drive door piece. Note the holes should face the door piece.
Close the top chassis, and then put the door on.
To remove the drive door, press the right end inwards to make the left side come up so you can grab and remove it from the console. This step will be required for the external version of MNEMO's ODE
