Porsche 991/981/718 MagSafe Phone Mount Improved

A MagSafe phone holder for Porsche 718, 981, and 991, designed to mount near the glove box compartment.

This is an improved alternative to my previous center-console trim mount. It mounts in a different location, which helps reduce the chance of scratching the leather and keeps the phone holder farther away from the gear lever. The tradeoff is that the phone sits slightly farther away from the driver.

Fitment

Confirmed fitment:

• Porsche 718

• Porsche 981

• Porsche 991

This version is designed for LHD cars. For RHD cars, mirroring the model may work, but I have not personally confirmed it.

• Mounts near the glove box compartment

• Less likely to scratch the leather trim

• Does not interfere with the gear lever

• Cleaner, more out-of-the-way placement

• Still keeps the phone visible and usable while driving

Print Material

Do not print this in PLA.

Car interiors can get very hot, especially in direct sunlight. I recommend ASA or another heat-resistant material. PETG may work, but ASA is preferred.

MagSafe Magnet

This mount uses a standard MagSafe-style magnet ring:

• 46 mm inner diameter

• 54 mm outer diameter

I personally used a magnet ring removed from an old MagSafe charger, but similar adhesive MagSafe-compatible magnet rings should also work.

Assembly

Use super glue to attach the printed parts together. Alignment/index holes are included to help with assembly.

Make sure the magnet is securely glued in place before using the mount. If it feels loose or shaky, add more glue around the magnet ring or check that the printed parts are fully seated.

Notes

This mount was redesigned based on user feedback from the original version. The goal was to make it more leather-safe and less intrusive around the shifter area while keeping the simple MagSafe mounting setup.
