Description

Blast off with this modular, support‑friendly Artemis Rocket model! 🚀
I designed it to be an accurate, scaled display piece and a fun, hands‑on model with stage separation.

Features

  • 🛰 Accurate scale – Proportions based on the real Artemis rocket stack

  • 🧲 Magnetic connections – Easy assembly and satisfying stage separation

  • 🧱 Support-minimized – No supports needed for any parts except the Orion Crew Module

  • ✂ Stage separation – Breaks down into:

    • Solid Rocket Boosters (SRBs)

    • Core Stage

    • Launch Vehicle Stage Adapter (LVSA)

    • Orion Crew Module

Hardware needed

  • 🧲 Magnets:

    • 9×6 mm9×6 mm magnets

    • 3×10 mm3×10 mm magnets

  • 🧴 Glue required – For securing magnets and some joins

(I recommend marking magnet polarities before gluing so all the stages connect correctly!)

Printing tips

  • Print all parts without supports, except:

    • Orion Crew Module – enable supports for best results

  • Typical settings:

    • Layer height around 0.160.16–0.2 mm0.2 mm

    • 2–3 perimeters

    • 15–25% infill (adjust for strength vs. print time)

Assembly overview

  1. Print all parts (with supports on Orion only).

  2. Press-fit or glue the magnets into their pockets, checking polarities so each stage snaps together correctly.

  3. Glue where needed for extra strength.

  4. Stack the stages and enjoy separating the SRBs, Core Stage, LVSA, and Orion Crew Module!
