Picatinny/NATO rail adapter for camera cages and cheese plates

This adapter allows you to attach an accessory that requires a standard Picatinny/NATO rail mount, such as a gunsight, to your camera cage, such as the one sold by Leofoto, or other mounting arrangement that uses standard 9mm spacing and 1/4-20 screws.

I designed this for a friend who's a wildlife photographer. The photos show his setup: a gunsight is mounted to the camera cage, making framing shots with a long lens much easier. The adapter is the piece in blue between the gunsight and the cage.

I recommend printing it on end with extra perimeters for strength. I've had good results printing it in PLA at 102% to allow for shrinkage, or in SLS nylon through Xometry at 100%.
