Description
I have a 12V car battery charger that I need to use frequently and it's always laying on the floor, generally at risk of being driven over, etc. I looked for a few wall mounts but wasn't happy with any, so I decided to overengineer my own.
This support is composed of 4 pieces, requires 2 heat inserts, gluing of dovetail connectors and hooks to the wall via 4 screw holes:
Top piece: base place for CTEK charger with holes for M4 heat inserts, wire strain relief and countersunk holes for 2 wall screws - prints with wall facing surface facing down
Dovetail pieces - print with wall facing surface facing down
Bottom piece: Wire hooks for power and 12V wire inc 2 countersunk holes for wall screws - prints with bottom of hooks facing down for hook strength
The CTEK unit is held with 2x M4 bolts that screw into the heat inserts. I've added washers but these may not be required. Please see photos.
I've spent some time around setting up the right tolerance for the dovetail pieces so that they fit snugly but leave enough space for glue to catch the parts. Because top and bottom parts are printed differently, the tolerances are different for either half of the connectors. Realistically and with the 4 screws you may even get away with not gluing the pieces if your wall surface is flat enough.
I've printed in PETG at 0.20mm layer height with 4 perimeters. No supports were required.
