Extruder Gear Removal Tool Orbiter V2.5

Hello everyone,

to upgrade the extruder on my Sovol SV08 I wanted to install the extruder gears from the Orbiter V2.5 upgrade kit. I wasn't able to remove the Orbiter extruder gear from its shaft. Neither freezing nor heating it up did any good.So I had to come up with a tool for this job.

It worked surprisingly well. :)

How it works:

The tool is designed to grip the gear below the outer tooths. One M6 screw will then push against the shaft, while being countered by an M6 nut within the tool.

Parts you need:

2x Part A

6x M3x20 screw (any kind) 

6x M3 heat insert

1x M6x (any kind)

1x M6 nut (DIN 934 or equivalent)

You can use 6x M6 nuts to lock the M3 bolts. The will have to be M3x25

How to Print:

I printed it out of random PETG that I had already loaded into my printer for some test prints.

I've used the following settings:

6 Walls

6 Top

6 Bottom

25% Gyriod Infill

Conclusion:

I maybe went a little over the top with the print settings and number of bolts, but to be able to losen a shrink fit one needs to apply quite some force.

I hope this tool will help you with similar a task.
